To enjoy a smooth sail on this side of eternity, an individual or a people must get rid of fear at all cost. Fear once romanced or nursed can establish a barrier in the human mind and once accommodated can hinder a man, a people, a community or nation and even a generation from moving forward to fulfil destiny and walking in dominion.
So therefore
What is Fear?
Fear is a state of mind or a mindset or an experience of what we do not know or what we know or perceive, to be a threat to well being and peace.
Or
Fear can be an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain or harm.
Fear brings trouble and disturbance that can degenerate to depression and instability in a person’s life.
Fear can be as a result of threat, worry, harm, danger, anxiety, pain and or a repeated pattern of an unpleasant experience.
So
Why Fear?
Types of fear
Positive
Gods kind of Fear breed love, for God is Love and perfect Love casts out fear. In the Fear of God, we acknowledge His supremacy and preeminence in our existence and endeavor.
Our Fear of God makes us to worship him and draw closer to him and not draw back even after falling short of His Glory.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the Knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
God’s kind of fear is a Good kind of fear and it will helps us to hate and run away from sin.
Remember Lot, he hated what was happening in Sodom and Gomorrah. The Bible says,” ….his soul was vexed…..”, but he still stayed there.
You don’t have to be like that!
Having said that, It is noteworthy to know our focus today is on the negative kind of fear.
Some people are so fearful they can’t move, they can’t talk and its always like somebody is right there standing behind them with a stick.
We must muster our inner strength to stand and that take charge against fear.
Fear is snare that makes a person see himself less than who he is.
For example, 12 spies in Bible days went to access a Land and they brought back feedbacks from what they observed with their eyes, 10 reported they were like Grasshoppers in their own eyes while the remaining 2 stood their ground and gave a contrary positive report that they were well able to posses the land.
The report of the 10 people bred fear while the report of the 2 built up faith. The 10 spies had eyes that saw themselves as little and they eventually became little. They looked at themselves and all they saw were Grasshoppers with all the innate abilities God embedded in them.
It is great to note that the Generation of men who saw themselves as grasshoppers in their own eyes and the Generation of men that believed they were like grasshoppers produced a Generation of Giant killers from which David emerged. David, killed Giants and also had Mighty men that conquered giants in their time.
Fear has torment.
Fear normally starts as a feeling and an uncontrolled emotion but it can graduate from a feeling and emotion to a full blown spirit, that dominates its victim. Fear is an enemy that must not be accommodated, once you fraternize with the feeling of fear over a long period of time, the spirit of fear grips the individual and aids the activity of fear to overpower the individual till he is incapacitated and consumed with it.
The spirit of fear is an external force backing the operation of fear in a persons life.
We must know that fear is an incapacitator. it reduces a man’s capacity and hinders mobility, speed, growth and development.
Some people are gripped with fear based on environment and experiences, there is also the fear of the unknown, fear of tomorrow, fear of height, fear of the dark, fear of failure, fear of abandonment, fear of ailment, fear of this, fear of that and the list goes on and on
What are the reasons why people fear
- Fear over issues that can be controlled
Some people are natural worriers, they worry about the slightest issue and worry even when they have nothing to worry about. Their mind is always worked up, not rested or at peace because they always think something will go wrong around them. This can be due to stress. This type of fear is borne out of issues that can be naturally controlled. When some people are stressed they hallucinate and conjure things in their mind. - Fear over issues that cannot be control Here people don’t have a grip over a situation and there is no control humanly possible to deal with the source of fear. In instances like these a person needs to build capacity in the place of the spirit to tackle the situation and overcome fear.
when fear becomes a stronghold, it takes the power of God to overcome it, and if it is not checked it can lead to a constant release of Adrenaline into the Body system. Adrenaline is the fright Hormone released when we are afraid and too much sends negative signals to the brain.
Fear grow and Graduate 🎓 too.
Fear normally starts as a feeling and then it grows and graduates. When fear graduates from an emotion or feeling to the point where a spirit takes over then it becomes a stronghold and this stronghold needs a Mop up plan to deal with so that victory can be established.
The Spirit of fear controls a man when the feeling of fear has become overbearing and has established itself and has taken roots down. It takes divine intervention to deal with the root cause of the Spirit of fear. This means a spirit is supervising that individual to always be afraid or fearful.
Fear is a destroyer and its source is the devil and it is a great negligence to think the devil is stupid or ignorant of you as a person. The devil’s tactics is the same, he feeds his victim with lies so as to build fear and once fear is established, he uses fear to engineer the person’s defeat.
Fear always wants to get the handle of a life hence no individual should allow fear to handle the door of his life, because once it takes hold of it, it opens the door to several other unpleasant things in that life.
Fear is darkness and it must be overcomed when it is exposed to light. We must put Fear under LIGHT.
So what is LIGHT?
L- LOOKING
I – Into
G – God’s
H- Heart
T- Till Victory is Gotten
Light means Looking Into Gods Heart Till Victory is gotten. The word of God, THE BIBLE, is the source of LIGHT. It is the only power that can repel the darkness of fear before it shows up or dispel darkness that is already around or present in a person’s life.
When fear gets a potential candidate to prey on, it explores the fellow’s words and thoughts.The words of a man’s mouth and the thoughts of his heart most of the time gives a man away to the Lordship of either Light or darkness. In essence, words spoken and thoughts must be regularly and constantly checked.
Hence, the choice is yours to choose FAITH over fear.
FEAR
Fear or Faith
We must be territorial to guard our mind against fear because any other thing can come into our space when we allow fear an accommodation around you.
Fear is like a tenant looking for accommodation don’t give fear an apartment or a place to reside in your Life.
Fear goes with darkness, and the master of darkness is Light.
And the Light shines in darkness and darkness could not comprehend it
Thus let’s carefully examine the way out focusing on Health and Wellness and Protection, Please note that this antidote to fear can be applied in other areas of life for fear and other ailments.
In Health, The Light that handles the darkness of sickness, illness, disease, Infirmities, epidemic or pandemic is the Word of God.
This light is scattered in the pages of the Bible.
LIGHT 1
Holy communion
The Holy Communion which represents the Passover in the account of Exodus is a powerful weapon against the spirit of fear.
The lamb killed for us today is Jesus and the the doorpost to be marked which is Our house now is our physical Body. The obedience of partaking in the Communion activates the power of the cross and brings exemption and preservation from evil.
The best weapon is the Holy Communion, it is a great and effective weapon available to deal with the Spirit of Fear. It makes a timid person Bold, since fear is an external force, another greater and potent force is needed to counteract it hold on a man’s life. At the Holy Communion Altar an exchange takes place, there is an exchange of weakness for strength, shame for Glory and Death for Life.
Every kind of fear as a result of anxiety, stress, depression, tension, burden of sickness and even death can be handled at the Altar of Communion.
Can I administer the Holy Communion to myself?
An individual can administer the Holy Communion to Himself and it need not be done just once or twice a month, it can be partaken of daily depending on the severity of sickness been dealt with. It should be taken till victory is gotten in that area and we have been charged to partake of it “as often as you do this”.
A genuinely born again child of God can administer the Holy Communion to himself and also partake of the Holy Communion.
Who is not Eligible to partake?
A sinner, an unrepentant believer and a Backslider.
LIGHT 2
The word of God,
Find the scripture that deals with the aspect of life causing you fear.
Find the word and eat it. Gods word should be eaten like the meals we consume, the word helps our spirit man mature.
By eating the word, you chew it, you swallow it like a pill or medicine and it goes to the body to perform Miracles and Healings.
After finding the word then engage it by reading, studying, meditating and reciting it over and over again till victory is obtained.
Fear 😨 is not sourced in God.
Fear comes from the devil, for God has not given unto us the spirit of fear but of Power, Love and a sound MIND. The spirit of fear is so strong Job a patriarch of old said what he feared has come upon him.
For God has not given unto us the Spirit of fear but of Power, Love and a Sound Mind.
Divine Tips against fear
Don’t allow other people’s experience or news of other people’s negative life situation become a template for your life. Fear emanates from the environment (largely from what we see and hear). Since others are experiencing a negative thing does not mean, that negative thing will occur in Your own life.
– There is a need to have a personal and working relationship with God by yourself for yourself so as to build up faith against the assault of fear.
– Don’t let other people’s experience become your experience, don’t base the conclusions and outcomes of your life on another person’s incomplete walk with God.
Watch your thought
Thought are suggestive and a gateway to the life of a person, thoughts can come as a result of exposures and experiences. Films are a gateway that fuel our thoughts. It’s time to avoid watching films that will accommodate fear, if a film is suggestive of a sickness or infirmity a man wants victory over and the film watched shows a negative outcome contrary to what the individual is believing for and that person absorbs everything in the film hook line and sinker without casting down the negative expressions that came as a result of that film, then the devil might have gained a mileage by establishing a stronghold of fear in that life.
-Jealously guard what feeds your thoughts and imagination every day.
Watch your imagination
Imaginations run wild and the human mind is very malleable and at the same time subtle and a person needs to resist every imagination that is exalted above the Knowledge of Christ.
Evil imaginations and thougts must be cast down.
-Guard your space, be a smart and intelligent person. Run and flee away from images and appearances that deflates your faith.
If what you hear or see contradicts your faith or what you are trusting God for it’s time to delete it from your mind.
ENGAGE FAITH

Know Who YOU are
Know Whose YOU are
Know Who the real enemy is which is the devil that is bombarding You with fear
Know the Spiritual Arsenal available to You as a child of God. Know that the Greater one resides inside of you.
Do not allow fear win the battle in your mind, once a person gives in to fear on the inside, he will be overcomed externally in a matter of time.
KEY POINTS
- The words you speak and the thought in your heart must be the same at all times, and both must always align with the written word of God
- Know the word of God, own a complete Bible, not only New Testament, but a complete one from Genesis to Revelation. Gods word is the Sword
- Read the word of God- Read, Study, Mediate regularly
In conclusion,
The negative type of Fear is an incapacitator and a force that represents darkness that must be repelled by LIGHT. The presence of the Spirit of Fear breeds lack of confidence, depression and other harmful habits. It is only the entrance of Light that can break the hold of fear in a person’s Life and the Knowledge of God’s word is that Light.
The type of fear which is the Fear of God is the positive type of fear that emanates from our love, reverence and relationship with God and these Fear of God should be encouraged everywhere.
I pray the bondage of fear be broken over you and yours and may God’s boundless love that comes from absolute faith and love for Him overwhelm your Heart, Mind and Body always.
